Sparkloft Media, a Portland, Oregon based social media agency, was recognized with Travel Weekly gold and silver Magellian Awards within the Travel Destinations category for its work on Facebook campaigns with South Africa Tourism and Travel Oregon.
“Being selected as a Magellan Award Winner is a tremendous achievement and proves you represent a high standard of excellence within the travel industry,” Travel Weekly wrote in a statement to the winners, adding that the awards recognized outstanding work from organizations and agencies around the world.
"We are thrilled to be recognized by Travel Weekly for our campaign integrating with JEOPARDY!” said David DeGregorio, Head of Marketing & Communications for North America at South African Tourism. “Awareness of South Africa is currently at an all-time high and we are confident that these types of innovative partnerships are a big reason why.”
This is the second year Travel Weekly recognized Sparkloft Media and South African Tourism’s work tougher; their 2011 social campaign, “Love Is In The Air,” was also a Gold Megellian winner.
Travel Oregon’s Adventurecation Spring Co-op campaign was recognized for best use of social media within the Destinations - Overall (global) category.
"It is especially meaningful to be recognized for an innovative campaign that brought exposure to all of Oregon, while also greatly supporting each of our unique regions and partners,” said Kevin Wright, Vice President of Global Marketing for Travel Oregon.
