(press release: OnlinePR) // UK Point of Sale
Stockport-based UK Point of Sale, a market leader in the manufacture of thousands of point of sale products from A boards to window displays, is to spend millions of pounds constructing a new warehousing, manufacturing and distribution facility.
The company, which supplies a diverse range of products to global firms such as Coca-Cola as well as family-owned corner shops, is to invest £4.5m in the expansion project. The facility will cover an area of 50,000sq ft and over time should lead to UKPOS boosting its workforce from 37 to 50 people.
Increasing demand from clients based in the UK and overseas has placed more pressure on the company's current facilities and by expanding to a new three-acre site, UKPOS will be able to continue to take on new work and provide clients with the same fast, reliable service it has become renowned for since being established two decades ago.
According to Jason Leslie, who set up the business with his father Bill, UKPOS now processes more than 240 orders each day, and relies on having stock available to fulfil those orders. He believes that by bringing the company's warehousing, manufacturing and distribution arms together on one site, considerable growth will be possible over the coming years in the UK, abroad and through the internet.
Jason said: "Overseas markets are a massive growth area for us. Currently, around 19 per cent of our sales are via the internet but, with a new-look website, which will make it easier for customers to navigate and find what they want, we expect to grow online sales to 30 per cent."
He added: "The business has changed since we started in 1989. Back then, only large retailers wanted our services, but now everybody from corner shops to large supermarket chains are interested in our products."
