Whether they are meant to be installed by the fireplace or at a workspace, several Armstrong flooring products recently demonstrated their style and substance with recognition from Design Journal magazine. Doling out eight Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) to the flooring manufacturer, the interior-design publication evenly recognized Armstrong’s residential and commercial brands with four accolades apiece.
When it came to domestic design, Armstrong Residential Floor Products had two hardwood offerings awarded for their superior form and function. Taking home an ADEX Platinum, Armstrong’s Artesian Hand-Tooled Birch is a hand-sculpted domestic hardwood that creates a vintage, rustic look by using random-width boards and rougher graining. Meanwhile, the brand’s acrylic-enhanced Performance Plus hardwood floor received an ADEX Gold, offering an extremely durable flooring in a variety of species and colors.
“The Artesian Hand-Tooled Birch product has a classic look that could have appeared in homes several generations ago, and it is built to last for many generations to come,” said Barry Greenberg, sales manager of A.J. Rose Carpets & Flooring, a Greater Boston flooring store. “On the other hand, the Platinum Plus line is designed to handle anything your kids, dogs or guests could throw at it without sacrificing style.”
For those that prefer the look and feel of stone to wood, Armstrong’s new Alterna Reserve premium groutable tile earned both an ADEX Gold and Silver. Alterna Reserve mimics the appearance of quartz, travertine stone and slate in three patterns, including Cuarzo, Classico Travertine and Moselle Valley. The luxury vinyl tile line is also available in 32 different variations so that home owners can find a style that complements the rest of the room’s design.
Moving on to offices, stores and other places of work, Design Journal presented Armstrong Commercial Flooring with Silver, Gold and Platinum ADEX Awards for its Rejuventions sheet vinyl flooring line. With its realistic stone visuals, the Rejuventions Gaya product earned Silver, while Rejuventions Origami grabbed Gold thanks to its stylish homespun tweeds and vibrant ink accents. Receiving the highest praise was the Rejuventions Wood Envy product, which collected an ADEX Platinum for its unique wood-grain appearance.
Armstrong Commercial Flooring was also honored with an APEX Gold for its Natural Creations Flight Path luxury vinyl tile, which is particularly well suited for executive offices and upscale retail spaces. Featuring nest-like woven visuals, Flight Path is designed to offer businesses a durable, modern-looking floor that can easily be worked into irregular spaces with different tile combinations.
“An aesthetically pleasing workplace can have a positive impact on employees’ moods, and the flooring businesses choose plays a major role in creating that visually stimulating space,” Greenberg added. “Armstrong offers a wide range of products that are both inviting and versatile, whether they are built to withstand a nine-to-five or a curious five-year-old.”
